Let's talk "trauma-informed"

Updated: Aug 23, 2025

You may have seen the term “trauma-informed” used by coaches, therapists, and wellness professionals before but what does it actually mean?

At its core, being trauma-informed means understanding that many people carry experiences of trauma that can shape how they think, feel, and respond in everyday life. A trauma-informed coach isn’t there to diagnose or treat trauma (that’s the job of a licensed therapist), but rather to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel supported, not judged.

As a trauma-informed coach, I'll show up for you in the following key ways:

Prioritizing safety: Emotional safety is the foundation. I will hold space for you to comfortably be vulnerable and create an environment that is welcoming of all parts of you.

Creating trust and offering transparency: I'll let you know what's happening and what to expect throughout our journey together. I'll honor the effort and energy you give by sharing your heart with me.

Empowering and uplifting: You are the expert in you. I will use my expertise in Core Energy Coaching to shine a light on the magnificent gifts you offer the world, help you further discover your truest self, and use this awareness to cultivate the fulfilling life you desire.

Remaining curious and non-judgmental: I understand that behaviors often have deeper roots so we'll approach them with compassion. We'll build a plan together that supports whatever goals you have for yourself and how you aspire to show up in the world and make decisions that align with your deepest values.

Being trauma-informed isn’t a method it’s the lens through which I see the world following my own lived experiences. It means honoring your full humanity and working with you in a way that’s kind, flexible, and aware of the layers you carry.

If you have questions about how trauma-informed coaching could support your journey, I’m always happy to chat.
